To help Year 4 understand the importance of symbolism, we visited St Kentergin's Church in Aspatria.  Matt, the vicar, set the children a challenge to see how many different symbols they could find.  It was interesting to look closely at the stained-glass windows and see what messages they communicated without the use of words.
