Autumn Jelly
During muddy Mondays the Nursery 3s children collected lots of autumnal objects, such as berries, leaves and acorns! In the afternoon some of the children helped to create some jelly using these objects! They each measured the water and added it to the pan with gelatin (vegan). They predicted what might happen and I suggested we should either put it in the fridge or heat it up! I told them we would heat it up on the oven but when it cools down it should form a solid, without having to go in to the fridge! The children engaged in lots of interesting talk, the suggested I put the bowl straight on the hob instead of transferring to a pan but then Birdie mentioned it was plastic so it would melt! The children realised the pans were metal and would not melt! They also knew the jelly was coming to a boil and when I asked why they said they could see steam coming off which meant it was hot! We left our Autumn jelly overnight and hope that it will be set by tomorrow so all of the children in Nursery can experience some messy play!
